School Improvement Index Award Presentation

Back (L to R) Mr Owen Rees CB, Councillor Margaret Alexander, Ms Bonnie Bellis, Mr Oliver Jenkins Front (L to R) Luke Sheppard, Kyle Bladen, Sam Ansell, Gary Gordon, Kyle Lewis  Barry Comprehensive School was proud to welcome Mr Owen Rees CB- Deputy Chairman of ACCAC, Mr Oliver Jenkins from HSBC and Councillor Margaret Alexander, Mayor of the Vale and consort Ms Bonnie Bellis to the school on the 22 March for the presentation of the National Improvement Index Award 2005.

The award is presented by the Qualifications, Curriculum & Assessment Authority for Wales to the school showing the greatest percentage improvement between its two most recent sets of GCSE\GNVQ three-year averages

This years award is particularly important to Barry Comprehensive as it the third consecutive year that the school has received the honour – something no other school has achieved. It is also the last time the award will be made meaning that the school’s unprecedented hatrick will remain unique.
