‘A’ Level Theatre Studies students at Barry Comprehensive School earn themselves top grades for the second consecutive year. Achieving high marks for their performances wasn’t an easy task the first time round at ‘AS’ Level, therefore to perform their way to the highest marks possible a year later, can only mean that these students are the best!

For their practical examination they staged and acted in the play, ‘Saved’ by Edward Bond. The external examiner commented, “the standard of acting skills amongst all of the students was outstanding and they tackled the moving and often disturbing narrative as mature professionals in the theatre.”

What makes these students so special, is their love of drama and theatre. All of them participate in school productions and are involved in extra curricular activities on a weekly basis. Their enthusiasm and drive for performance work make them ideal candidates for the ‘A’ Level Theatre Studies course at Barry Comprehensive. During the two years they have studied acting skills and developed new techniques that culminate in a performance examination at the end of each year.

The Drama Department are not ashamed to admit they are very proud of these young people and want everyone to know that these are truly first class actors, who deserve the highest marks achieved not once but twice in a row!! What better way to end their sixth form studies that recognising their potential as the best – simply the best! Better that all the rest!
