Karate Champs

Scott, Elliot and Rhys are ready for GlasgowBarry Comprehensive pupils Scott Paramore, Elliot Evans and Rhys Davies are among Britain’s most successful young Karate athletes.

Despite being just thirteen, Rhys recently won the Under-16 karate event at the AMA International Open in Nottingham, beating some of Britain’s top fourteen and fifteen year olds in the process. Rhys was British Under 12 champion last year.

Scott won the British International Open Under-14 title in January to ass to the British ‘closed’ title he won in June of ’05.

The three boys, representing Vale Karate, have won the Welsh Under-10, Under-12 and are current Welsh and British International Open Under-14 team champions – these are all official titles recognised by the Sports Council.

All three boys will be attending the British Karate Federation’s Scottish International Open in Glasgow at the beginning of April and we wish them the best of luck.
