Mini Male Mayhem

Some of the year 7 and 8 boys from Barry Comprehensive have written an exciting school magazine, cleverly named ‘Mini Male Mayhem’. Lewis Davies and Curtis Fowler instigated the idea and approached their English teacher, Mrs McAuliffe, for support in organising a newspaper club. Many boys from years 7 and 8 have come together to share their skills, the emphasis being that everyone could take part, whether they were good at art, IT, interviewing or written work.

The boys have now successfully put together a 40 page magazine, including teacher and pupil interviews, sports reviews, games, a problem page, personality quiz and even a ‘guess who’ of pictures of teachers as babies! The magazine will go on sale next week for just 30 pence and all proceeds will go to ‘Help Lanka’, one of the many charities that Barry Comprehensive supports. ‘Help Lanka’ is a Tsunami relief charity, helping to rebuild schools and homes for young people in Sri Lanka. The boys have worked incredibly hard and all in their own time. They are very proud of their achievement and rightly so. Maybe Barry Comprehensive is producing some of the future generations of journalists!
