Presentation Evening 2006

Barry Comprehensive School’s Presentation Evening, always one of the highlights of the school calendar, took place last week.

Over nine hundred parents and family members joined us to celebrate the many successes of pupils and the school. The guest speaker, Ms Jane Hutt, A.M., congratulated the school on its continued success which she felt was recognised not only locally but also at a national level. Ms Hutt also spoke highly of the school's work in the local community, an area that was later highlighted by the presentation of the first Jamie Adamson Award in recognition of the schools support for the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund - an award for which everyone at the school feels great pride.

Guests Councillor Nick Hodges, Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, and Mr Tom Shanklin, British Lions Rugby Union, also presented prizes to the delighted winners. The evening was also provided an opportunity to reflect on the many successes of the school over the last year.

Andrew Tuck receives the Jamie Adamson Award in recognition of the schools support for the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund Nathan Roberts receives the Inkslingers Cup (for outstanding performance in Key Skills) Lloyd Rogers receives the Headteacher's Cup (for positive attitude and effort) James Cosgrove receives the Evelyn Careless Award
Michael Camilleri receives the Anne Williams Shield Robin Johns receives the Leslie Mathews Cup Christopher Morgan receives the Jimmy Jones Memorial Award for Technology Luke Thomas receives the D. U. Harris Prize (The best GCSE Biology results)
