Year 7 Progress Presentation Evening (Skip to report)

On Wednesday 9 th November Year 7 pupils at Barry Comprehensive School welcomed their parents/guardians and families to the School's Year 7 ‘Pupil Progress Presentation Evening'.

The aim of the evening was to inform parents of the progress that their sons have made since joining the School in September and, in order to do this, the boys themselves made a twenty-minute presentation about their learning in Mathematics, English and one other subject of their own choosing. Parents made a note of targets for improvement in these key areas and were supplied with relevant support materials to allow them to play as full a role as possible in the school/home partnership which is so important in ensuring that progress continues throughout year 7.

Presentations were made under the watchful eye of the pupils' English teachers, who are also the boys' form tutors and gave up an evening of their own time to support the initiative. The evening was attended by over 200 sets of parents/guardians from whom feedback was extremely positive and the School looks forward to welcoming them again later in the year when they will have the opportunity to meet with all subject teachers to discuss progress.
