Drama & Theatre Studies students at Barry Comprehensive travelled to London recently on their annual Theatre experience.

Twenty-eight pupils had a very busy schedule ahead of them, beginning with a theatre workshop at ‘The Pineapple Studios’ with a n actor/director of the West End show ‘Woman in Black’, followed by a ghost tour of Drury Lane Theatre where at least two ghosts have been sighted under the stage and in the dressing rooms! We think we must have scared them away, although the tour put us in the mood to watch the thrilling play ‘A Woman in Black’. Every pupil, including Miss Walters (who screamed the loudest) jumped out of their seats when they saw the ghost appear on stage. Not many pupils slept that night and were still talking about it over breakfast.

After a sightseeing tour of London and lunch at Covent Garden, pupils watched ‘The Producers’, a great West End musical comedy that made us laugh so much our sides ached.

A great time was had by all and as the pupils left the coach on their return to Barry they all asked, “When are we going again?” The ghosts of London Theatre-Land need time to recover before Barry Comprehensive pupils return again next year.
