Children In Need 2006

On the 17th of November Barry Comprehensive School held its annual Children In Need fundraising day.

The event is a non-uniform day, a very rare relaxation of the schools uniform rules, with pupils contributing £1 each to help those less fortunate than themselves. Some staff members however could not resist donning the uniform themselves!

The highlight again this year was Barry Comprehensives' own X-Factor contest. The brave performers had to take to the stage in the Sports Hall twice this year to make sure all the pupils who paid for tickets were able to watch the show.

Once again staff members, along with a student band and backing singers, produced some truly awful memorable performances for the panel of sixth form experts to judge. The packed audiences for both shows had a great time.

Teachers also volunteered for the stocks and the sixth form also braved the weather during their free periods to wash staff cars.

Students and staff contributed to a very successful and enjoyable day and look set to improve on last years £2000 donation to Children in Need.
