The Barry Comprehensive School Gymnastics Team

The Barry Comprehensive School Gymnastics Team

Fourteen boys from Barry Comprehensive School recently took part in the Cardiff & Vale Tumble and Vault Competition.

The under 13’s team of Joshua Harfoot, Richard Lewis, Kieran Mears, Jake Sparkes and Adam Tombs, who are all year 7 pupils, took the Silver Team title.

This year saw the largest number of senior gymnasts from the school to participate in the event, producing intense competition to make the team. Thomas Batte (Year 10), Adam Case (Year 9) and Michael Netherway (Year 10) have shown great improvement since last year and two new members of the team, Ross Cleland (Year 11) and Jamie Jones (Year 9) also competed for their first time. Jamie Davis, Bradley Haysham & Andrew Mock (all Year 9 pupils) and Kyan Shorney (Year 13) won the Senior Silver Team title.

Bradley Haysham, despite only recently moving to the senior age group and competing against boys up to the age of 19, took the Individual Silver Medal. In addition to his team Silver, Joshua Harfoot also took the overall Under 13’s Gold Individual medal.
