Annual PGL Trip

Barry Comprehensive School thoroughly enjoyed its annual PGL trip to the south of France during the second week of June. Thirty-six boys accompanied by staff from the PE department, Mr Manley and Mr Ingle, travelled down by coach and ferry to the resort of Tamaris on the Mediterranean coast for a fun packed week of water sports.

After a relaxed journey overnight through France, the party arrived early on the Sunday morning and were greeting by bright sunshine and very warm weather. After a swift bite to eat at breakfast, the boys were put straight on activities, where they enjoyed a day on the long boats and toppers. The PGL staff were excellent throughout, whether they were instructing the boys on the water or showing the group how to dance in the disco in the evenings!

During the week, the boys were given the opportunity to experience many activities including wind surfing, raft building, catamarans and snorkelling. The boys found each of the activities very enjoyable and challenging but when asked which part of the trip they enjoyed the most, the banana boat and ‘awesome’ trip to the water park were very popular answers. The trip was a complete success and both pupils and teachers are looking forward to the same again next year.
