Preparing for Autumn Term 2007

Barry Comprehensive School’s new staff meet in the Conference RoomBarry Comprehensive School is busy making final preparations for the start of Autumn Term 2007.

This September we are proud to welcome a new group of teaching staff to the school. We feel sure the group, containing both qualified and trainee teachers, will contribute greatly to their individual departments and to school life in general.

The Barry Sixth Form, which is operated jointly by Barry Comprehensive School and Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School, has opted for a new look this year with the introduction of a uniform sporting its own logo.

Although a hotly debated topic, we feel the uniform will help engender a sense of common Sixth Form identity across the two sites. There are also practical benefits such as making students easy to identify on site and easing the demands on students wardrobes. Nathan Hougham, who will be moving from Year 12 to Year 13 this year commented, “I think the uniform is a good idea – I’m fed up of running out of clean clothes by the weekend!”
