Sleepathon 2007

Fundraisers getting ready to sleep for charityBarry Comprehensive School pupils continued their charitable work during July with another unusual fundraiser - a sponsored sleepathon. The event is a favourite with pupils who collect sponsorship pledges in return for the privilege of spending the whole night in school!

Over 100 pupils, chaperoned by volunteer teaching staff, spent the evening playing sports, taking part in quizzes and watching DVDs before eating a supper provided by the school. The Learning Resource Centre doubled as a dormitory for the night with books and computers ignored in favour of sleeping bags and pillows. The boys were provided with breakfast, to which their parents were also invited, before leaving school on Saturday morning.

All monies raised by the event will be donated to the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund.
