Wicked Maths 2006

Working hard at Wicked Maths Last week the Barry Comprehensive School Mathematics Department welcomed parents and grandparents of Year 7 pupils to take part in their own Mathematics lesson.

This popular annual event aims to bridge the gap between home and school by providing parents with an insight into the teaching and learning techniques used within the department. The entertaining evening saw parents, pupils and teachers working together to practise skills that their sons use on a regular basis.

The event, which was held in the school dining hall, also gave parents the opportunity to meet the mathematics teachers and chat informally over refreshments.

This year, more parents than ever before attended the ‘Wicked Maths Evening’. Miss Bagshaw, Head of Mathematics, said “I would like to thank all the parents for taking the time to attend the evening. We hope that we have provided some ideas on how they can support their son at home and given them an insight into the teaching and learning structure used within the department.”
