Barry Comprehensive School pupils from the whole of Year 8 worked together to collect, fill and wrap 48 Christmas Boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
The appeal, run by the Christian Organisation Samaritans Purse, asks donors to fill a shoebox with gifts suitable for either a boy or a girl in a particular age-range. The boxes are then distributed to under-privileged children around the world. Last year over a million boxes were delivered to children in Central and Eastern Europe.
The boys have been collecting gifts and packing and wrapping boxes since September with the help of their form tutors. Ms. Bagshaw, who organised the collection, said “ After watching the DVD report our pupils acknowledged how fortunate they were at Christmas and how much joy they could bring to another child with just some small presents. The children and their families have been very generous in contributing to this appeal and we thank everyone who has taken part”
