Barry Comprehensive School pupils took part in a Grand Balloon Race to mark National Anti-Bullying Week on Friday the 23rd of November.
Earlier in the week Linda James from the Bulliesout Charity, with which our School has formed a close association, gave a very informative presentation to Year 8 pupils. Mrs James, a recent nominee for the Welsh Woman of the Year Award, also received a cheque for £500 from Headteacher David Swallow. “Beat Bullying” wristbands have been selling like hotcakes and the Anti Bullying Squad Pupil Counsellors have been busy helping to ensure that this message got to all the pupils of the school.
Anti Bullying Squad Pupil Counsellors were also actively involved in Balloon Race preparations which formed a spectacular end to Friday afternoon in sparkling sunshine. Over 200 hundred Year 7 pupils launched balloons with race cards attached the finders of which could win a prize if their balloon travels the furthest.
