Preparing for the New Term

The start of the Autumn Term is still a week away but Barry Comprehensive School’s new year 7 pupils and their parents are fully prepared for September.

At the end of the summer term, the school invited the parents of year 6 pupils to an open evening for a presentation and a chance to look around the school and chat to teachers. Year 6 pupils spent the whole day at the school, attending lessons and trying out a range of activities.

This September we are proud to welcome a new group of teaching staff to the school. Many of the posts on offer were hotly contested with a large number of very able candidates eager to work at the school. We are extremely pleased with the high calibre of the new appointments and feel sure the new staff members will contribute greatly to their individual departments and to school life in general.

It is also seems appropriate at this time to bid farewell to last year’s Year 13. The majority of leavers, A Level certificates in hand, will be off to universities all around the UK in the coming weeks – Good Luck!
