The group on their 15-mile trek in the Gower

Fourteen Year 10 pupils from Barry Comprehensive School completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh at the Gower, Swansea.

The two day expedition took place on the 30th June and 1st July during which the boys undertook a 15 mile walk and an overnight camp. Expedition organiser Mr Pereira commented, “I am extremely pleased with the teamwork and attitude displayed by all the boys. Not only were there no complaints, but members of the team helped each other by carrying the rucksacks of those that were struggling.”

Earlier in the year the boys worked with the Marine Conservation Society in their regular cleanup operations at the Knap Beach, Barry to complete the Service to the Community component.

All the boys are now looking forward to tackling the Silver Award next year.
