Young Life Savers

In the presence of Headteacher Mr D Swallow and Mrs E Zyjewski, their course tutor, another nine lifesavers were awarded their certificates recently at Barry Comprehensive..

The pupils completed the HEARTSTART course and were presented with certificates by Martyn Morgan from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Prehospital Emergency Resuscitation Unit in Cardiff .

These boys also successfully followed a St John Ambulance course on basic First Aid. Certificates were presented by Bill Jones, the school's First Aider, and a member of the St John Ambulance Team.

The Year 10 pupils, Richard Burston, Jon Cooper, Gary Gordan, Joshua Jenkins, Alex Jones, Rhys Price, Jake Thomas, Mark Wallace and Jordan Wheeler, are all following an Entry Level Life Skills and Work Hazard Awareness Course. Their First Aid training will contribute towards their final examination qualifications.

Barry Comprehensive School is grateful to Mr Morgan and Mr Jones for their time and expertise and we are very proud of the efforts all boys made in learning new skills to help others.
