Oliver Letwin MP & Alun Cairns AM visit

Barry Comprehensive School welcomed Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP and Alun Cairns South Wales West AM and National Assembly Shadow Education Minister to the school on Wednesday 12 th September.

Oliver Letwin, who is Chairman of the Policy Review and of the Conservative Research Department, visited the school on a fact-finding mission. Mr Letwin and Mr Cairns spent time talking to pupils, teachers and governors before undertaking a question and answer session before an audience of A Level Politics students and members of the School Council. Topics ranged from university tuition fees, to health care and social justice and even to advice on entering a career in politics.

The visit gave students at the school an opportunity to learn about politics firsthand and hopefully our guests were able to learn more about the views and aspirations of their potential future voters.
