Better Reading Partnership

Barry Comprehensive School's Better Reading Partnership completed another successful term this week, with a presentation and tea-party in the School's Learning Resource Centre.

The Partnership relies on specially trained volunteers who are partnered with boys from years 7, 8 and 9 to help them improve their reading skills. The scheme could not function without the generous support of members of the local community, and it was a pleasure to welcome new recruit Mrs Whyte to the team this term. As well as taking part in the Reading Partnership, Mrs Whyte has made a valuable contribution in assisting in the classroom. Reflecting on her time at Barry Comprehensive, Mrs Whyte commented, “It has been a very enjoyable experience. The boys are so eager to learn and I feel that I am helping them to make progress”.

The school is very grateful to all the volunteers, past and present, without whose time and dedication the partnership would not be possible
