In a new competition structure, with year 10 pupils competing in a heptathlon event throughout the day, all athletes worked to the best of their ability with some very notable performances being recorded on the track as well as in the field events.

Staff from all departments were involved in the officiating of the event which made it a worthwhile and well organised day, culminating in a 4 team staff 4 x 100m relay event competing against an elite year 9 and 10 relay teams. The staff were hard pushed, including some quite fit and a few not so fit runners, unfortunately being pipped at the line by the year 9 and 10 teams.
