Another Great Season

Barry Comprehensive School ’s U16 & U18 Basketball teams retained their Cardiff & Vale titles last week after defeating Cathays (U16) and Llantwit Major (U18).

The finals were played at the Welsh Institute of Sports, Sophia Gardens, having progressed through the Group and Semi-final stages during the previous three months.

A number of Year 11 boys, namely Chad Clark, David Pitman and Luke Booker played for both U16 and U18 teams on the day, resulting in very worthy wins against two well organised and determined teams in both Cathays and Llantwit.

The results provided a fitting end to a season which included some very hard work in training leading up to the matches. Praise must also go to Coach Coles for the time and effort he has invested in the sport over the last few years, that is paying dividends for pupils who are playing successfully for school teams and also local club teams and representative teams.
