Barry Comprehensive School is proud to welcome its largest ever intake of International Students to the Sixth Form. Although they have only been in the country a few weeks the enthusiastic teenagers had plenty to say about their experiences so far and their hopes for the future; Juan Balleza, from Venezuela is focussing on Music and hopes to attend the Royal Academy of Music in London. Tin Nguyen from Finland is keeping his career options open but has already decided that people at Barry Comprehensive are nice and friendly. Chia-Ying Lin from Taiwan is aiming for a career that will let her travel the world and has complimented her classmates for their help in overcoming language difficulties. Tereza Machacova from the Czech Republic is positive about the school and commented on the helpful and friendly teachers and the different approach from her own country. Sigrid Bystol from Norway agreed that that everyone at the school is very friendly. Choon Hoe Lum, from Malaysia has his sights set on becoming a doctor and praised teachers and classmates for their help in lessons. Potsawee Wetphanit from Thailand wants to be an Engineer and is pleased with the timetable on offer at Barry Comprehensive. Cristhian Porras from Columbia is interested in a career in political science and is enjoying the different education system in the UK. Doniz Simon from Hungary, who hopes to become a diplomat, commented that the teachers are really nice and was pleased with the choice of subjects available, Knut Helle from Norway commented about how many people attend the busy school and was looking forward to his studies. Pei-Shan Lee, from Taiwan, is hoping to become a doctor and was impressed with the variety of subjects on offer. Felix Recke, from Germany, is interested in studying politics or economics with the aim of becoming a diplomat or working for an international organisation. Felix says he likes Barry Comprehensive because the subject options are good and the school is very modern. We hope that our visitors will enjoy their experience of a year in Wales and know that students at the school benefit greatly from interacting with their peers from around the globe.
