International Languages Day

The European Day of Languages took place on 26th September at Barry Comprehensive School.

Language ‘taster’ lessons were held in a huge range of languages, including German, Finnish, Italian, Spanish, Malay, Czech, Mandarin, Hungarian and Thai!

Barry Comprehensive’s Sixth Form International students joined forces with teachers to deliver this interesting range of languages. We therefore renamed the day International Day of Languages.

In addition to languages many other European themed activities took place, including Spanish cuisine in Food Technology, T-shirt design in Art and learning French songs in Music.

As always, catering staff in the Canteen cooked up an impressive range of dishes including classics like French Onion Soup and Hungarian Goulash.

The day was very successful and enjoyable and Miss Evans and the Languages Department would like to thank everyone who took part.
