We are collecting Morrisons ‘Let's Grow’ Vouchers

From 15th September until 6th November 2008 your pupils’ families, carers and friends will be able to collect Morrisons Let's Grow reward vouchers from their local Morrisons store. We have until 10th January 2009 to redeem these vouchers for free gardening equipment; everything from seeds and spades, to composting bins and planters.

The scheme aims to get pupils excited about food and not just the eating part! You’ll be given the inspiration to follow a healthier lifestyle by learning everything they need to grow fruit and vegetables in the school environment.

Everyone in our school could benefit from Morrisons Let's Grow and the resources will help you with some of our wider school challenges such as:

• Eco Club which are aiming for the Green Flag Award • Healthy School Status • Science Club

Both the Eco Club and Science Club are planning to revamp the garden area at the front of the school in order to have an area which can be used for lessons and nature alike. Ideas of healthy eating and healthy living are becoming more and more fashionable; with these vouchers we aim to get equipment to start the plans on the ‘Eco Area’ at the front of the school.

All of this work is aimed at achieving the Green Flag which is awarded by the Eco Schools initiative, which is a national scheme aimed at encouraging pupils to be aware of what is happening to the environment and the planet we live in.
