Pupils from all the local primary schools, along with parents, families and friends attended Barry Comprehensive School’s Open Evening on Thursday 2 October.

All departments made the visitors feel welcome with an exciting programme of lessons, workshops, experiments and presentations. Food technology laid on a tasty selection of cakes and snacks whilst the Creative Arts faculty provided entertainment with live music whilst the Art Department’s extensive galleries proved a top attraction.

The Science Department provided many hands-on experiments along with a spectacular demonstration using methane gas. History students conquered the world playing Risk and DT students demonstrated their soldering skills and showed off their brand new laser cutting equipment.

Many pupils volunteered their time to talk to the visitors about their experiences at the school as well as to take part in the various activities designed to showcase the many attractions of the school to potential pupils and their parents.
