Keep On Running...

And their off - year 7 begin their to runBarry Comprehensive School’s Year 7, 8 & 9 pupils took advantage of the recent sunshine for a cross-country run competition.

The event sees hundreds of pupils, dressed in school green, following a course around the school playing fields and the Astroturf and Sports Hall at the Colcot Sports ground.

The top three runners in each year group were Josh Kirke, Gareth Hurman and Scott Townsend from Year 7, Matthew Collins, Rhys Geisheimer and Liam Welsh from Year 8 and Matthew Edwards, Rhys James and Richard Lewis from Year 9.

Year 7 taking advantage of the September sunshineAs well as providing some good exercise in the fresh air, the event is used to help in the selection of the school’s running teams for the Cardiff and Vale League and other fixtures for the coming year.

Since being selected, Matthew Edwards has represented the school at the Cardiff and Vale League and came an impressive 8 th out of 204 runners!
