Showcase Evening

The Year 10 and 11 Performing Arts stars on stage together

The Year 10 and 11 Performing Arts stars on stage together

At the end of October, Barry Comprehensive School opened its doors for the first time this academic year to show off the performance skills of its Performing Arts students.

Over two nights, pupils in years 10 and 11, showcased their talent by performing ten original plays created especially for the two nights entertainment. Both evenings were a great success and highlighted once again the huge amount of talent that exists within the school. The showcase evening was billed as:

“The X-Factor (but without the singing):
10 plays, 57 actors, 1 prize,
Who Wins? You Decide”

Parents, pupils and members of the public voted for the play that they enjoyed the most. The outcome was extremely close with only 1 point separating the top five groups. There could however only be one winner and the audience voted for “DOWNFALL” created by year 11 students Nathan Boyer, Joe Church, Liam Kelly and Bradley Miller. Their prize was presented to them by the Headteacher, Mr Swallow in a special assembly.

On behalf of the Performing Arts Department we would like to thank everyone who attended his special event for their support and encouragement. We look forward to seeing you again at Christmas for “PETER PAN” (December 1st - 4th). Tickets available on 01446 411411.
