Teachers' TV Filming

There was great excitement in the English department at Barry Comprehensive School before half-term as “Teachers’ TV” were in to film a number of lessons and tutorials.

As part of “Read A Million Words”, a national drive to tackle reluctant readers and improve boys’ literacy, the programme focused on successful teaching and learning ideas to support reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

The boys were filmed doing a number of activities including planning a Dodgeball match report, talking about their favourite types of books and analysing a speech by Martin Luther King.

The P.E. department also got in on the act with Mr Hutton reading one of his favourite books to pupils as part of the “Real Men Read” scheme that is run in the school.
