Rotary Club ‘Young Chef of the Year' Competition

Four pupils from Barry Comprehensive School recently entered the annual Rotary Club ‘Young Chef of the Year' Competition.

The competition, which was warmly hosted by Bryn Hafren Comprehensive, required the students to prepare, cook and serve a healthy three course main meal in two and a half hours.

The competitors, from Barry Comprehensive, Bryn Hafren and Ysgol Bro Morgannwg working under the watchful eye of the judges managed to produce excellent meals. The judges agreed that all the entries were of restaurant standard and found it extremely difficult to decide on the winning menu. Barry Comprehensive represented well and came away with a highly creditable runner-up position for Daniel Wagstaff.

Mr Pereira was overwhelmed by both the high standards of food produced and the commitment and dedication of all the competition entrants.
