BCS on the BBC

Hot on the heels of the successful Question Time evening, Barry Comprehensive School was asked by the BBC to be part of Allan Little’s series of reports on devolution and its impact on the election.

Mr Little and the film crew dropped in on an A Level Politics lesson where issues involving devolution were being discussed. Under the direction of teacher Julie Lander, there was a lively debate between students expressing their opinions for and against devolution as well as considering if the Welsh Assembly might serve as a model for the expected hung parliament in Westminster. Miss Lander, who joined the school from Northern Ireland, was then interviewed by Mr Little, comparing the public attitudes towards the assemblies in Cardiff and Stormont.

The report was broadcast on Monday 26 April on the BBC4 World News and the BBC1 ten o’clock news.
