The Cake Stall

As always there was plenty of food on offer from the healthy fruit stall to the not so healthy but very popular cake stall. More cakes were available in the staffroom as the result of a difficult to judge baking competition.

Some pupils took to the corridors in fancy dress to collect donations whilst other pupils were sponsored to spend the day tied together. The Welsh Baccalaureate students organised and ran a very popular morning of Guitar Hero on the big screen in the Hall, making sure to collect donations from the players

Barry Comprehensive’s answer to X Factor took a break this year to make way our very own Strictly Come Dancing competition. The performances were very entertaining and really had to be seen to be believed.

Teachers braved the stocks during a chilly break time, with sponge wielding pupils out for revenge, Street Soccer was a popular event with giant blue wheelie bins as targets and there were plenty of pupils ready to accept a challenge on the basketball court. A Geography classroom was quickly transformed into the venue for a table-tennis tournament. The staff took on the 6th Form in football at lunchtime, with spectators paying to watch the Sixth Form beat the staff 2 – 1.

Through the combined efforts of the school council, year councils, Welsh Baccalaureate students and all the pupils and staff, we raised £2,200 and had lots of fun along the way. A big thank you to all the pupils and staff involved for making the day a success

Thanks to Alex, Drew, Kyle and Mrs Hill for the extra photos
