On Friday 30th April 2010 Miss Evans and Laurie Foucherand (the French Assistant) accompanied a group of Year 10 and 11 students to the CILT Cymru awards ceremony at the Optic Technium centre in St Asaph, North Wales.

The pupils had reached the finals of their category and only the runners up and the winners were invited. Unfortunately not all students were able to attend. For the award pupils produced a timeline and DVD, a calendar and a photo filled power point. The ceremony was organised by the British Council (Wales) and CILT Cymru.

Miss Evans, Laurie and the pupils were thrilled to hear that they had won the CILT Cymru ‘Get to know your Language Assistant’ award. The winners were Caelum Davies, Chris Jones, George Scott and Liam Hodges (Time-line and DVD), Ieuan Thomas, Sam Rimell (Calendar) and Alex Johns, Drew Simpson, Scott Nelson, Ian Crapnell (PowerPoint)

During the day pupils learnt some Polish and German and they also did some Salsa dancing and Tai chi. The long journey had been worthwhile and Miss Evans and the Languages Faculty are extremely proud of the students.
