Team Sri Lanka 2010 packed and ready to go
A party of Barry Comprehensive School 6 th Form students and two teachers left last week for Sri Lanka.
Ms Lyndsay Allen and Mr David Williams have worked hard over the last few months with the students to raise money for schools and an orphanage in Columbo and Galle. Thanks to the generous donations from pupils, parents, staff and from organisations in the local community, everyone was at the limit of their baggage allowance on arrival at Heathrow with their cases full of resources for the school and children.
Strong links have been built up between the school and the charity Helplanka and the students couldn’t wait to start their teaching in the schools when they arrived. However, there will be time to visit the Elephant orphanage and other local attractions.
