Stage &
Screen 2

The talented pupils of Barry Comprehensive School entertained a packed school hall on the evening of 11th March.

Stage and Screen was back by popular demand, after last year’s wonderful production of songs from musical film and theatre.

Stage and Screen 2 was a compilation of all the songs, you can’t seem to get out of your head. Sweeney Todd, Chicago, Oliver, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, were a few of the musicals represented and Enchanted, Tarzan, Jungle Book, Working Girl were some of the chosen films.

Every performer was outstanding, from Year 7 to Year 13 and they merged singing, dance and drama effortlessly in each musical number.

An added bonus this year was a percussion group, playing “Adegio for Strings”.

This wonderful musical evening was certainly value for money and the quality of singing and choreography was, as ever, first class and totally professional.

Music and Drama continue to be an important part of the school calendar and just when you think Barry Comprehensive pupils can’t get any better, another show begins and before you know it, sets are built, tickets are sold and another packed hall sits eagerly, waiting for the curtains to open and the orchestra to play their intro.

The summer production this year is “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Can we beat “Les Mis” from last year?

“Yes we can!!!”
