National Gymnastics Success

Barry Comprehensive School’s Year 7 and Year 8/9 Gym Teams are celebrating their success in the Welsh Novice Gym Championships.

The teams first competed in the Cardiff & Vale competition before progressing to the Welsh Finals at Sophia Gardens where they competed in two tumble and two vault routines. The Year 8/9 team achieved first place and the Year 7 team achieved second place.

The Year 7 team of Harrison Riseborough, Harry Carter, Ryan Hodge, Oliver Bartlett, Thomas Throssell and Cameron Thomas and the Year 8/9 team of Curtis Langford-Scott, Lewis Watkins, Macauly Steele, Matthew Cassidy and Benjamin Morgan-Brownhill were coached to success by Mr A Thomas, who joined Barry Comprehensive for teacher-training whilst studying at UWIC.
