Barry Comprehensive School has been awarded the Careers Wales Mark in recognition of the high standard of the school’s provision in the areas of careers and the world of work.

The whole school initiative was led by Sarah Bagshaw (Deputy Head) and Steven Rees (ICT and Business Teacher) and supported by Alan Thomas (Work Experience Administrator). To receive the award the school was evaluated against the Careers Wales World of Work framework and the Estyn Inspection framework. A Careers Action Plan was created, implemented and reviewed, which provided evidence for an external verifier to check that progress of continuing improvement is in place whilst ensuring there is a clear commitment to improve student learning.

Barry Comprehensive School can now display the Careers Wales Mark on its letterhead and website for three years.
