It's still February, but Barry Comprehensive School's Year 11 pupils have their sights set firmly on the summer GCSE examinations.

A group of dedicated students and teachers gave up their weekend recently to stay at the Park Inn Hotel, Cardiff for two days of intensive revision and examination preparation.

Pupils worked on honing their general revision and study skills along with subject specific material and examination techniques.

The pupils appreciated the time and effort put in by their teachers and were impressed by the excellent facilities provided to them at the hotel.

At the end of the weekend, pupils reported feeling highly motivated and more confident about their GCSE examinations.

Even Rhys Roberts, whose birthday fell on the weekend, was glad he chose to attend, although the giant birthday cake may have influenced his opinion!
