Jack Jones and John McAllister have hit the headlines with their campaign to have rugby posts installed at Maslin Park on Barry Island

Barry Comprehensive School pupils Jack Jones and John McAllister have hit the headlines lately with their campaign to have rugby posts installed at Maslin Park on Barry Island.

The boys, along with John’s brother Cameron, have organised a petition and a Facebook page to convince the Vale of Glamorgan Council to improve the sporting facilities at the park.  As well as collecting the signatures of hundreds of local residents, the boys have received pledges of support from Tongan international and Cardiff Blues player Ma’ama Molitika and Alun Cairns MP. 

Jack, John and Cameron have been interviewed by both the Barry & District and the Gem about their campaign and everyone at school is proud of their effort to improve their community.
