Former Barry Comprehensive School student Joseph Vaughan gained the highest mark of all the candidates in the country who studied A Level Applied ICT with the Welsh Joint Education Committee (WJEC) last year.

The WJEC, the examining board for Wales, is celebrating the achievements of the highest achieving A Level candidates by awarding cash prizes and certificates. Gareth Pierce, WJEC Chief Executive, commented in a letter accompanying the award that, “This is an outstanding achievement and evidence of the hard work that Joseph and his teachers put into preparing for the examinations.”

Joe is currently in the middle of a gap year gaining practical experience of working in IT at Holder Mathias Architects before returning to full time education to study for a degree in Computing.
