Using the Careers Wales website
Year 9 Options – logging on
- Browse to www.careerswales.com
- Choose language – Welsh / English
- On the Home page choose Year 9
- Use the username and password given by school to log in (top right corner).
- You will be prompted to change the password. Enter a password with at least 6 characters including 1 number. Usernames cannot be changed
- Tick the terms and conditions box
- Make a note of your username and the your new password
Using the Online Options Menu
- From left hand menu select - In My School – My Options.
- To make a course selection click in relevant box.
- Your choices will appear as text underneath the options menu.
- You can add any comments in the Comments Box.
- Once you have finalised your choices remember to SAVE your choices using the green save button at the bottom of page.
- When you have saved your choices the screen will change – green bar with tick will appear at the top of page which confirms that your options have been saved.
- Also subjects chosen in each options block are confirmed.
Accessing the careers leaflets
From left hand menu select - Let’s Explore – Careers.
This will open up a new window to e-clips information leaflets. The left hand menu provides link to:
- A-Z search for subjects linked to careers (e.g. maths, history, etc) or to names of jobs / occupations.
- Job Group search – e.g. Healthcare etc.
- Search – brief search linked to qualifications, interests and skills which will provide links to related e-clips leaflets.
For Further Information - will provide links out of the Careers Wales website into related websites.
Related Leaflets - will provide links to other related leaflets in the e-clips series which can expand research ideas.
