The Association for Teachers of Social Science has a site at Leicester University which is edited by Tony Lawson. In addition to some valuable information on the site itself, it also offers you access to a variety of useful websites.

Sociology online is an enormous and rich site with slideshows, quizzes, resource material and links. You should sign up for the Newsletter which is sent to subscribers' e-mail addresses. This site is updated regulalry and is a genuine labour of love. Use it carefully and keep looking for all the treasures it contains. To make the slideshows work, use full screen (click the image of the projection screen in the bottom right corner of the display) and use the left mouse click to progress. Hewett School in Norfolk offers a jazzy and exciting set of pages, some of which are for the students of the school, and some of which you will find interesting for downloading notes and exercises.

For all the notes and support that you will ever want or need, written in an accessible and personal style, have a look at Chris Livesey's Sociology Central site. You are advised to download onto a disc rather than print materials out directly. This site is growing all the time and is an excellent resource for you to use. You can also get there from the ATSS site and others, so you see that it is highly recommended.

The British Government has a vast site which will repay hours of browsing and link chasing. It can be difficult to find specific information unless you make your search words fairly precise
