BCTV Interview Councillor James

Jordan Lewis, Councillor James, Daniel Lewis and Lloyd PursallOn Monday, the 20 th June, three Year 8 students from BCTV, the school's television station, were invited to the Media4Schools offices to conduct a very prestigious interview with the Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Councillor Jeffrey James.

The team were selected for the job following their recent filming triumph at the Careers Wales Product Knowledge day at the CIA. Jordan Lewis, on camera, Daniel Lewis, the Sound Recordist, and Lloyd Pursall, the reporter, were lucky to be chosen over the other six participating schools involved in the Media 4 Schools project.

The BCTV crew at workThe interview will go alongside the school's recent School Dinners story, where teaching staff cooked lunch for the pupils in aid of Jamie Adamson in a pilot programme for Vale TV, a community station set up to feature local issues and events, and will be accessed through the Council's website from September as well as through other Vale organisations.

Councillor James has been instrumental in setting up Vale TV, and has been personally involved from the outset. He told Lloyd Pursall, upon being asked when the next programme could be made, “Vale4Schools has been such a success that I would like to see another programme beginning immediately”. Which means plenty more work for the BCTV crew!
