Hard at work in Morrisons SupermarketBarry Comprehensive School’s Year 10 School Council have spent four evenings in Morrisons Supermarket this week packing customers bags in exchange for donations to raise funds for the tsunami appeal.

The group of fourteen and fifteen year olds, along with their teacher Mrs Ellis, have given up two hours of their free time each evening and have raised £800 with the support of Morrisons and the shoppers of Barry. Not satisfied with this tremendous effort, the pupils already have a car wash planned to raise further funds.

In a separate event, Year 8 pupils took part in a sponsored roll-a-thon. This novel event involved pupils gathering sponsorship for performing successive forward rolls in the school gym.

The initiative and dedication of all the boys involved is outstanding and the school is very proud of their achievement.
