Welcome to BCTV

The BCTV team (L to R) Ms Edwards, Tom Gates, Stephen Lawton, Luke Beattie, Daniel Jordan, Lewis Edwards, Jon HamOn Friday, the 6 th May, six Year 10 employees of BCTV, Barry Comprehensive School's own television company, won the opportunity to film an event held by Careers Wales at the CIA Cardiff.

BCTV successfully tendered for the job against six other schools in Cardiff and the Vale, and not only bagged the prize of filming at such a prestigious event, but also won £250.00 in prize money, which will be used to purchase much-needed camera equipment for the television station.

Daniel Jordan, the director, alongside Lewis Edwards (reporting), Luke Beattie and Stephen Lawton (camera), Tom Gates (sound) and Jon Ham (lighting) gained the fabulous experience of being a real-life camera crew for the day, using broadcast standard equipment provided by Media4Schools, the parent company of BCTV.

The material the boys shot will be edited at school on BCTV's eMac computer, and will be used by Careers Wales as a record of the day, and as a point of reference to future employees of the company. The film will also be entered in the Media4Schools Film Competition later this year.

The day was a great success and all six boys performed fantastically. Well done all!
