Gerran and Owen

Two Year 9 pupils from Barry Comprehensive School have been selected to appear in a new film for television.

Gerran Howell and Owen Roberts, (amongst many others from Barry Comprehensive) attend ‘The Workshop’, a film and television acting workshop run by Peter Wooldridge The boys have appeared in a few short films and auditioned for ‘Casualty’ and ‘Holby City’, recorded radio adverts and radio plays, but this is their first major film and it would be an understatement to say they are “really excited!” Filming commences in late April in Croatia, where they will have a private tutor to keep up with their schooling, they then fly out to Luxemburg for six weeks and finally on to Leipzig in Germany..

The film is called ‘Crusading Jeans’ and is aimed at a younger audience. This is a wonderful opportunity for Gerran and Owen, who have been involved with drama from an early age. They will be taking GCSE Drama next year and the department can’t wait to hear all their stories of their acting adventures. Both stars in the making, for sure, and who knows, Croatia this year, Hollywood next!
