A group of Year 10 French students from Barry Comprehensive School received second prize in the “Get to know your Foreign Languages Assistant” competition organised by CILT Cymru. The innovative group utilised their IT skills to produce a website about their FLA, Claire Batard.
On the 3 rd March 2005, the boys attended the National Museum & Gallery in Cardiff where they received their prizes and a cheque for the French Department from Jane Davidson, the Minister for Education.
The judges commented that they had thoroughly enjoyed browsing the website and that it was refreshing to have a team of boys performing well in languages, which is traditionally seen as a girls subject.
