The group at the Saatchi Gallery On a freezing cold and snowy February day, the Art Department at Barry Comprehensive School descended on three London Art Galleries. The party of 45 Year 11 & Year 12 students studying GCSE and AS Art and Photography visited the “Triumph of Painting” at the Saatchi Gallery and a very exciting and diverse exhibition called “Africa Remix” at the Hayward Gallery before walking along the Thames to the Tate Modern. The students saw some thought-provoking art which will hopefully inspire their future work. Ms Marie Cartwright (Head of Department), Ms Davies and Ms Phillips were accompanied by post-graduate art students Mr Simon Thomas and Mr Will Jenkins who are both training to become art teachers. A great if tiring day was had by all.
