Students supporting 'Tidy Wales Week' Barry Comprehensive School students are no strangers to picking-up litter and are pleased to support ‘Tidy Wales Week'. The initiative, from the environmental charity Keep Wales Tidy, is intended to encourage people to take responsibility for their local environment and create a litter-free sustainable Wales. Wale The necessity of the campaign is recognised by Barry Comprehensive and its neighbours. The school itself has more than 1500 people on site each day and is bordered by heavily used public playing fields and footpaths, a busy hospital, a supermarket and another school. All these factors contribute to the volume of litter that has to be dealt with. The school actively tackles the problem. Students and staff can be seen working together every day to remove litter from both the school's own playing fields and the public paths and playing fields outside of the school boundary. We are pleased that the Keep Wales Tidy campaign is focussing attention on the national nature of the problem and highlighting community action as a sensible way to tackle it.
