Barry Comprehensive School Supports Children In Need

On the 18 th of November Barry Comprehensive School held its annual Children In Need fundraising day.

The event is a non-uniform day, a very rare relaxation of the schools uniform rules, with pupils contributing £1 each to help those less fortunate than themselves. Year 7 pupils happily paid extra in return for seeing their form teachers wearing full school uniform for the whole day!

The highlight of the day was Barry Comprehensives' own X-Factor contest at lunchtime. Brave staff members, assisted by pupils, produced some truly memorable performances for the panel of sixth form experts to judge. The packed audience for this exciting event thought the 50p admission price was well worth it.

The teachers took on the Sixth Form in soccer (final result: Teachers 6, Sixth Form 4), and sixth formers also braved the freezing car-park during their free periods to wash staff cars for £3 a time – some cars required much more effort than others!

Students and staff contributed to a very successful and enjoyable day and look set to raise close to £2000 for the appeal.
